Ways to Help

But first… an acknowledgement of appreciation

To accomplish the mission statement “to explore, illuminate and utilize the awesome power, live music has, to help heal mind and body” will require help in many ways from many people. Even though the Magicbox Project is in the very genesis of development, already it has received generous, altruistic assistance from those that have graciously given time money and expertise to advance its vision. The project sincerely appreciates the help and support from those that have contributed thus far especially to the following, who’s contributions have been invaluable.

There are numerous other friends and family that have given heartfelt suggestions, insight and overall emotional support. Your contributions will always be most appreciated and a continued invaluable resource.

Hire a Magicbox Project Musician

Until scientific research projects have been established and funded, the project will survive on donations, grants, concerts and payment for services performances, so if you or someone you know would like to experience the healing effects from the music first hand…here is your chance. Consider giving the gift of Magicbox music to someone you love as a unique alternative to sending flowers and other meaningful gestures while supporting the cause at the same time. If interested, please contact the project at magicbox@pobox.com.
(Those without the ability to help with the small fee are still encouraged to call…money is not the issue…helping people feel better through the wonder of music is).

Home Concerts

Funding and overall awareness for the project will depend in the initial stage on home concerts. Home concerts are increasing in popularity throughout the country as a way to showcase musicians in the relaxed concert style environment from your own home. Please consider a Magicbox Project concert for your next get together with friends. The concert is sure to be a relaxed enjoyable alternative to a regular party and will have benefits far beyond an evening of skilled musicianship and song. While the ultimate goal of the project is to facilitate clinical research and perform primarily in a healing setting, these intimate venues provide a welcome opportunity for the musicians to “stretch” and play music in a “less emotionally packed venue”, allowing for a welcomed and cathartic type of expression from playing in a room filled with nuance associated to a hospital room or other healing facility. Please contact the project at magicbox@pobox.com to discuss the specifics and to schedule a concert date.

Corporate Sponsorship

What better way to support this wonderful cause and promote your business at the same time? As a gesture to acknowledge appreciation for larger donations, the Magicbox Project will gladly list the companies on brochures as well as including the company’s logo on apparel worn my the musician at each hospital ,or venue it brings the “magic”. Please contact the project at magicbox@pobox.com to discuss the possibilities.

Call to the Music Community

Benefit concerts are a tried and true way musicians support causes near and dear to their hearts. If you are a performing musician or group, please consider helping the Magicbox Project by doing a concert in its behalf. Another alternative is to have your concert or performance “open” with a musician from the project. This would be an effective way to advertise the cause as well informing the overall community to the Magicbox Project. If interested in performing a benefit or would like to participate as a project musician, please contact the project at magicbox@pobox.com.

Personal Donations

The Magicbox Project is committed to unrelenting pursuit of its mission statement. While the outcome may have already been decided “in theory”, the real time needed to see the scientific results, and subsequent implementation will be greatly influenced by vital donations from those that envision the potential of the cause and sense the importance of their gift. Words cannot express the degree of appreciation and debt, the project feels for any donation. All are accepted with one thought in mind… for all that have donated , when attending the first Magicbox Project Appreciation Concert to  say…”the amount of money was small, compared to the invaluable benefit”. That is the goal and how the project will best repay this immeasurable gift and vote of confidence.
